Embracing Volunteers Week with Health Shield's Make a Difference Policy

Volunteers Week kicks off on the first Monday in June each year, dedicated to recognising and thanking the UK's dedicated volunteers. It's an opportunity to acknowledge their selfless efforts that enrich local communities, the voluntary sector, and society at large.

Volunteering isn't just about helping others - it's also about personal growth and fulfilment. Research shows that lending a hand can boost wellbeing, enhance skills, and increase confidence. It's a rewarding experience that benefits both the giver and the receiver.

At Health Shield, we embrace the spirit of giving back and making a positive impact in our communities. This Volunteers' Week, we honour and support our employees who plan to get involved in our Make a Difference policy.

Our Make a Difference Policy underscores our commitment to creating a positive impact. Rooted in responsibility and professionalism, this policy focuses on protecting the environment, supporting the community, and fostering a culture of giving back.

Our employees play a pivotal role in realising our vision of helping people live healthy, happy lives. Through the Make a Difference Policy, we empower our team to take action and create meaningful change within their local areas. From charitable initiatives to environmental projects, we support a wide range of causes aligned with our values.

As part of our commitment to supporting our employees in their volunteering efforts, Health Shield offers one day of paid leave to engage in charitable activities, conservation work, community clean-ups, fundraisers, and more. This leave can be utilised for individual or team initiatives, allowing our team members to give back in ways that resonate with them personally.

This Volunteers' Week, we invite all Health Shield employees to participate in activities that embody our core values and anybody wanting to get involved in volunteering but don’t know where to start.

The Volunteers Week Website provides information on how business and individuals can get involved https://volunteersweek.org/

Together, we can continue to make a positive impact and inspire change within our communities.
